My little Tate is heading to the pumpkin patch with her little playgroup tomorrow and I decided I needed to whip up a little something fun for her to wear. After all, the yearly pumpkin patch photos are my very favorite. I made her a super simple, five minute stitched candy corn shirt made from other store bought shirts.
I bought three {cheap} shirts at our local Walmart and cut them as needed … a bit off the bottom of the white shirt {I love the ruffled edges on this shirt}, a strip from the orange shirt, and the bottom portion of the yellow shirt {I left the hem intact to save time}.
To make it a bit different, I sewed the seams with wrong sides together, making the seam show on the outside of the shirt. It keeps the tunic from being too plain and adds a pop of texture and some lines.
Tate’s going to wear her new candy corn shirt with some black and white striped leggings when she heads to the pumpkin patch. Cross your fingers that she’s in a picture posing mood tomorrow!
