I love the thought of wandering through the pumpkin patch drinking hot apple cider Last year, I brought some to our playgroup outing but this year it just felt too warm so I opted for a cold beverage instead and a festive snack mix.
The recipe for the snack mix can be found here although I made a couple of modifications. I used waffle pretzels rather than twists, candy corn instead of the autumn mix, and I left the popcorn out altogether {so as not to have a crowd of choking two year olds}.
The drink of choice was Apple Julep, a cold cider with a citrus twist. It’s perfect for hot days at the pumpkin patch.
Apple Julep
Makes 6 cups {I doubled the recipe}
Stir together 1 quart apple juice, 1 cup pineapple juice, 1 cup orange juice, and 1/4 cup lemon juice. Serve over ice. Garnish with apple slices, lemon slices, and fresh mint springs, if desired. {or, alternately, serve in a leaking Rubbermaid jug out of the back of a wagon. Either way works well.}

I’ve started truncating my posts … please pop over to my blog to read the rest!
Looks good!
