I recently experimented with a new bread machine recipe and it was too delicious not to share with all of you. This recipe uses Red River cereal {a Canadian hot cereal} but if you can’t find that, some type of very grainy hot cereal or oatmeal would also work as a substitute.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/3 cups whole wheat flour

2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Add the ingredients to the bread machine and bake according to manufacturer’s directions for a white loaf of bread.  Let the bread cool completely before slicing.

I love homemade bread. I don’t have a bread machine any more but might have to breakdown and buy another one. Thanks for sharing!

My husband loves Red River Cereal! I think I have some in the cupboard. When he sees this, he will surely want me to make it.

I love your ideas. I would love to follow you. Would you consider adding feedburner so I could subscribe by email? Thanks for considering it.
