Arm Knit Table Runner

I think I jump on a lot of bandwagons a little late.  I was totally late to the chevron trend party and now I’m running a little behind getting to the arm knitting party as well!  But better late than never, right?  I’ve jumped on the bandwagon with both feet, starting with the DIY arm knit throw I made for my daughter’s room and now I’ve added an arm knit table runner to my dining room table!  I love the bulky knit and the texture of the runner on my table is just perfect for winter decorating!

To make this arm knit table runner, I used one jumbo ball of chunky yarn from my local craft store.  I believe it was about 84 yards.  Depending on the length of your table, you may want to use one and a half balls of yarn.

Cast on thirteen stitches.  I won’t go into a full tutorial because there are so many amazing videos and tutorials out there already.  Find one on youtube and then use it along with these measurements.

Knit until you run out of yarn {be sure to leave a bit for casting off} or until the table runner is the length you want, joining two balls of yarn if needed.

Cast off and then trim off the ends of the yarn or weave them into the runner.

That’s all there is to it.  You can whip up a table runner in about thirty minutes so put on your favorite show and start knitting.

I keep seeing arm knitting but i worry about how long it takes – how do you pop to the bathroom if you need to half way through? This looks quick enough to solve that potential issue! A good starter arm knitting project I would say.
