I like to make a special themed birthday shirt for my younger kids to wear to their birthday parties. It’s a fun way to make the birthday child stand out at the party and a special souvenir to keep after the party.
Tate is so excited about her painting party this weekend and very excited to wear the shirt that she painted herself!
Tate painted the party invitations and I thought it would be fun to let her paint a birthday shirt as well. I used my Silhouette to cut a freezer paper stencil of a large number four, ironed it onto the front of a shirt {Tate chose the color} …
… and let Tate use different colors of fabric paint to fill it in.
Tate took such pride in painting the shirt she’ll wear to her party and was very specific about using certain colors and a certain amount of glittery paint. After all, a girl should sparkle on her birthday, right?
When Tate finished painting her shirt, I carefully removed the freezer paper stencil …
… and let it dry overnight. Tate will be as cute as can be in her painted shirt on Sunday!
