No Sew Personalized Name Garlands

This no sew personalized name garlands post contains affiliate links.

One of my favorite DIY touches in Lila and Tate’s shared room makeover are the little no sew personalized name garlands above their beds.  These garlands are so simple to make and are a fun way to use up fabric scraps and create a special space in a shared room.

To make a no sew personalized name garland, you’ll need fabric in one or more coordinating colors, fusible fleece, ribbon, and hot glue.

Using a cute font, print the names out, then cut the letters from coordinating fabric {since this garland doesn’t take much fabric, unless you have a really long name, it’s a great way use up some of the fabric stash}.

To give the letters some body and stability, apply fusible fleece to the back of each letter.  You may want to apply the fusible fabric to the fabric before you cut the letters to save a step.

Use a glue gun to attach the letters to ribbon and hang them up on the wall.

I think they look super cute and I love that they’re so easy to make.  They’re also a fun way to mark personal space in a shared room.

While I made these for my younger girls, they’d also be really fun in a younger boy’s room.  Simply use boy-ish fabric {dinosaurs, trucks, and other things that little boys love} and colors that match the decor then glue them to grosgrain ribbon or even rope.

And if you want to do something a bit different with this letter garland?  Spell out a favorite word and hang it up in a craft room for a fun, DIY element!

Can’t wait to see the whole thing! I love anything that says “ne sew”. I was just at Ikea and saw a sewing machine for $60 and my husband wanted to buy it! Ack. I firmly told him that I don’t sew, I don’t even iron, so let’s keep our diying to areas outside of fabric:) But I could do this….
