Milestone birthdays are something that should always be celebrated even if that celebration is small and sweet!  Do you agree?  This 21st birthday gift idea is super simple but a really fun surprise to receive in the mail or waiting on the door step … and it can be customized to suit any milestone birthday!

milestone birthday gift idea

My oldest niece turned twenty-one last weekend.  Such a huge milestone, right?  Venturing headfirst into adulthood is definitely worth celebrating in style!

I thought it would be fun to send her a gift suitable for a 21st birthday and let her know that we were celebrating this big day with her.

I bought a mini bottle of champagne {you can find a really great variety of colorful mini bottles of champagne and sparkling wine at your local World Market} …

… tied a number candle around the neck with sheer red ribbon {it was easy to find a 21 candle but if you can’t find the age you need, you can always tie two different candles on to the champagne} …

… and nestled the champagne and candle in a bed of red crinkle cut paper shred filler and pearly star confetti.

21st birthday gift

The birthday gift was a hit.  My niece texted me after she received it to tell me it earned me the cool aunt badge … which is the whole goal, right? {wink}
