These creative gift toppers with M&M’s were created as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias®.
‘Tis the season of Christmas shopping and Christmas wrapping and today I’ve got you covered with a gift idea and gift wrap solutions all in one!
If you have kids {or a husband … smile}, games are probably popping up somewhere on the Christmas wish list. This week I made a stop at Walmart for Forza Motorsport 5 and some M&M’s {the perfect stocking stuffer} and came home with a little something for myself: a $10 eGift card to Walmart!
Right now, you can participate in the Buy, Snap, Redeem program. BUY Forza Motorsport 5 along with participating M&M products {your total M&M purchase must be at least $8}, SNAP a photo of the qualifying items on your receipt and text it to 811811 with code M&M, and REDEEM! You’ll receive a text back with a reward code for a $10 eGift card to Walmart. Awesome, right?
Now that you’ve got a fun Christmas gift for your favorite gamer, let me show you what you should do with those M&M’s!
Your first step {before you make some creative gift toppers} is to enter the M&M Pixel Art Instagram sweepstakes. Create your own pixel art using M&M’s, snap a photo, and upload it to Instagram and twitter, tagging it with #FueledbyMM and #contest. One lucky pixel art creator will win a new XBox One Gaming with M pack, including the new XBox One entertainment system, the Forza Motorsport 5 game, and a 14 ounce bag of M&M’s candy. You can enter a maximum of three times a day through December 18, 2013. A winner will be chosen at random. See the official rules for further details.
And now on to the gift toppers! A gift is even more fun when it’s packaged in a unique way and I have three simple gift toppers to show you. They all star M&M’s and require only a few simple DIY steps. Perfect, right?
A lightbulb ornament makes a cute gift topper or a perfect little gift all by itself {you could make a pile of these for your kids to hand out to classmates on the last day of school before Christmas break}. Buy a lightbulb-shaped plastic ornament at Walmart, fill it with one color of M&M’s, tie a colorful ribbon on top …
… and add a simple tag. So simple and so fun to give and to receive!
For a more wintry idea, fill a bubblegum tube or vial with white {mint} M&M’s, paint the lid black and add a paper brim {I used a craft punch to cut a circle then punched a smaller hole in the center so it would slide over the tube}, add vinyl facial features and buttons {or draw them on with a Sharpie}, and tie on a ribbon scarf.
This proper little snowman makes a fun gift topper or a sweet stocking stuffer.
And finally, have you got a grinch in your life? Someone who doesn’t always appreciate the finer things about the season? Make a personalized ornament to top their gift! Using a Sharpie, freehand the famous Grinch’s face onto a glass ornament {I’m no artist but you really just need to draw a few simple strokes} …
… fill with green M&M’s and top with a ribbon. Even a grinch will be pleased with that sweet treat!
See how simple it is to add a festive touch to a gift? What’s your favorite way to wrap a present?
