This season is my absolute favorite and fall combined with repurposing is a total win in my eyes.  There’s virtually nothing that can’t be turned into a pumpkin with a little imagination and creativity!  Check out these fun and inspirational upcycled pumpkin ideas {click on the links below for all the details for each project} then take a trip to the thrift store or dig through the garage for some supplies to make your own repurposed pumpkins for fall!

27 upcycled pumpkin ideas

With a little paint or dye and a piece of wood, turn an ordinary pillow into a repurposed paint dyed pumpkin pillow for the porch or living room.

Cut your own wood slices or buy them at the craft store and turn them into painted wood slice pumpkins.

Sift through the closet for old flannels you no longer wear or hit up the aisles of the thrift store and make these no sew shirt sleeve pumpkins.  I love the fall colors used here but they’d be really cute in any color scheme!

Transform an old wheel into an upcycled metal wheel pumpkin.

Get out the paint and some paper supplies and whip up these pumpkin mason jars!  Fill them with candy or other treats for a sweet fall gift.

Upcycle unused pots into clay pot pumpkins for a cute mantel display.

Turn old {or new} embroidery hoops into these embroidery hoop pumpkins.  They look so cute on their own and they’re equally cute with a flameless candle in the center.

Don’t throw out those empty bottles!  Turn them into painted glass bottle pumpkins instead!

Old jello molds are one of my favorite things to scoop up at junk sales and now I love them even more.  How cute and glam are these vintage jello mold pumpkins?

An upcycled funnel jack o’lantern is a super cute addition to the fall and Halloween decor … and so easy to make!

If you’ve got a bunch of paint sticks lying around the garage, turn them into a paint stick pumpkin!  Or you can talk sweetly to the person at the paint counter at your local hardware store.  Not all hardware stores will give paint sticks away for free anymore but it never hurts to ask.

If the kids have outgrown that old sweater or you’ve got a thrift store stash, turn them into repurposed sweater pumpkins.  The texture adds a perfect element.

Many of us have extra dryer vent hose in the garage and this is such a fun way to upcycle it!  Turn it into a dryer vent pumpkin.  Wouldn’t it be pretty to have a whole patch of these in all different shades of orange?

Thrift stores are always full of cheap books and the book pages are perfect for repurposed projects.  This book page pumpkin is adorable.  You can use anything you want for a stem and even leave the pumpkin unpainted for a neutral look.

Bandanas are super cheap at the craft store and this is a clever way to repurpose them.  These bandana pumpkins are a stylish way to decorate for Halloween.

Don’t throw out that old mismatched pot lid.  Turn it into a repurposed pot lid jack o’lantern instead!

If you do any building, you’ve probably got a pile of wood scraps.  Turn them into whimsical painted scrap wood pumpkins.  I’m smitten with the piece of trim turned into a pumpkin!

Thrift stores are always full of baking supplies and I love to upcycle old bundt pans.  This repurposed bundt pan pumpkin makes a great centerpiece for fall.

Wooden trays just need a coat of paint to turn them into wood tray pumpkins.  This is a great way to add a seasonal touch to the kitchen.

Thinking outside the box with craft supplies can spark clever ideas!  This metal lace pumpkin is elegant and classy.  Wouldn’t a whole row of these make a pretty centerpiece?

Don’t overlook the sports equipment!  This tennis racket pumpkin is really easy to make and definitely adds some whimsy to a mantel!

I’ve got piles of mason jars lids stashed in a bag and they probably outnumber the jars that I have.  I’ll have to get out the spray paint and turn them into mason jar lid pumpkins!

We all go through a few tin cans every week and this is a fun way to save them from the trash.  These recycled tin can pumpkins would be a fun craft for the kids, too.

Placemats are often cheap, especially if you can find them at the dollar store, and this placemat pumpkin door decor is a quick and easy alternate to a wreath.

Don’t throw out those corks!  Make an upcycled wine cork pumpkin instead.  It’s so cute and a great way to use that cork collection.

Have you got a puzzle that’s missing a few pieces?  Turn it into a puzzle piece pumpkin.  It makes a cute sign and also adorable place cards for a fall table.

And finally, update that old garden shovel into a vintage shovel pumpkin.  Hang it on a wall or just prop it up next to the front door.  Either way, it’s adorable.
