Have you got an old wagon hanging out in your garage, past its prime and not being used anymore?  I have a fun round up of ideas of how to repurpose old wagons and, if you don’t already have one laying around, these clever ideas will probably have you looking twice at a wagon at the next garage sale {wink}.

How to Upcycle an Old Wagon

An old wagon, especially a rusty one, would be perfect repurposed as a planter in the backyard.  You could fill it with dirt {a plastic liner might keep it from rusting} or just set pots right inside.

A wagon repurposed as a shelf would make a fun addition to a playroom or child’s bedroom and it makes a great place to display treasures.

This wagon turned into a tray is such a fun idea and a great way to add some color to a room.  I love the vintage feel.  The additional wagons on the shelf in the background also add a fun and playful element to the room.

How about transforming a wagon into an island, a bar cart, or a side table?

An old wagon also makes a really fun and unique outdoor bar.  Wouldn’t this be a fun accessory for al fresco entertaining or backyard pool parties?

You could also make a very simple version and use it as an outdoor table.  I love this blue version of the traditional red wagon.

Using a wagon for book storage is a simple but practical way to repurpose.  And it can move all over, like a little bookmobile {smile}.  It’s the perfect idea for a playroom.

An old wooden wagon repurposed as a coffee table is just so cute.  A piece of glass gives it an even, flat top but you could skip the glass and just set items directly in the wagon.

A wagon is also perfect party decor.  This wagon doubles as a beverage cart {website no longer available} but I’ve used an old wagon to hold party favors as well.

Here’s an unexpected but intriguing idea.  Would you ever think to repurpose your wagon as a mobile grill?  This might be a fun idea for camping or tailgating. {This website is no longer available.}

There are so many great ideas for upcycling an old wagon and your imagination is the only limit when it comes to repurposing.  Have you done anything fun with an old Radio Flyer?
