I love playing and creating with Duck Tape® and I’m always inspired by the holiday and seasonal tapes that I see. This woven Duck Tape® basket is a fun and easy way to add a Valentine’s Day craft to your home or a simple way to add some organization to the kids’ rooms and spaces!
To make it, you’ll need two rolls of coordinating Duck Tape®. Right now there are Valentine’s Day prints and colors available that will make this project really festive and fun.
To make the base of the basket, tear three strips of Duck Tape® and lay them side by side, sticky side up. Place three more strips across them, sticky sides together, and trim the excess. You’ll have a square with the strips on each side running in a perpendicular fashion.
Lay a strip of Duck Tape® across the middle of the base, extending off both sides. This strip should be at least three times the width of the base. Turn it over and lay another piece of tape, sticky sides together, across that first piece.
Pull the piece across the base and cut it so that this strip {which will form the side} is the same length as the base. Repeat on the other side of the strip.
Repeat, making two more strips on either side of the center strip.
Turn the base and repeat the above steps so that you now have something that looks like the picture below.
For each of the four sides, tear a piece of tape and fold it over the ends …
… so that they are captured and stuck together. Trim the excess from the edges.
Pull the sides up and attach each corner together with a small piece of tape.
The main body of the basket is now complete and you just have to finish the weaving.
With a coordinating piece of Duck Tape®, tear a long strip {long enough to weave through the entire basket} and attach another strip onto it, sticky sides together. This will give you a long piece of tape to weave with.
Run this piece in and out through the basket …
… and attach the ends together with a small piece of tape. Be sure to attach them on the inside of the basket.
That’s it! You have a super cute, super original woven Duck Tape® basket all set to hold Valentine’s cards or other fun items.

I love this! When I was in elementary school, I remember making woven baskets out of paper to hold Valentines in. This reminds me of that, but a cuter, more modern version!
