Wood Burned Wood Slice Magnets

The fun, repurposed industrial locker door memo board I hung in Luke’s room is sporting handmade, rustic wood burned wood slice magnets with outdoor symbols.  Once Luke’s rustic room makeover {finally} happens, these magnets will fit well with the new theme and right now they just look really neat against the metal.

To make these simple wood burned magnets, I cut a large log into slices about half an inch thick.  This log has been sitting in my garage for some time so the wood was already dry.  If you’re using a piece of wood that isn’t fully dry, let the slices sit for a day or two to dry out.

When the wood slices are dry, use a wood burning tool {affiliate link} to add images.  I wood burned symbols that might be found on outdoor signs since my little guy is an avid outdoorsman.

I’m not a great artist but since I was going for a rustic look, these images will work well.  And my little guy thinks they’re perfect!

Once all the images are burned on …

Wood slice magnets are so simple to make and they look fantastic on any surface!
