Vintage Sewing Pattern Gift Wrap

I really love finding ways to add vintage touches to my holiday decor {and even better if I can find a way to repurpose that vintage item!}.  This year the gifts are getting decked out with vintage sewing pattern gift wrap!

I love the history of old sewing patterns.  I like picturing Wilma buying this pattern at The Nifty Needle in Oklahoma and then writing her name on it before she lent it to a friend … because I’m sure everyone was making super short skating skirts back in the day {smile}!

And the fabulous thing about this old pattern?  The printing on it is all red and green.  It was just begging to be upcycled as Christmas gift wrap!

Because sewing patterns are so thin, I lined the pattern with tissue paper and wrapped the gift in both layers to prevent the recipient from getting a sneak peek at their gift.  If the pattern has actually been used, you’ll have to be a bit creative with the way you use the pieces.  Sewing patterns typically work best for smaller gifts.

I love the random red and green lettering.

A simple tulle bow finishes the package and adds a festive flair … or you could continue with the sewing theme and wrap it in a measuring tape!

What creative gift wrap ideas are you using this Christmas?
