Happy New Year!  It’s January which means it’s time to make resolutions, set goals, and organize!  Does anyone else get the organizing bug in January?  I love organizing with upcycled items and my upcycled flower frog office organization is a total favorite.  I could have one on every work surface in my home!  Sometimes it’s the simplest ideas that are the best.

Before I share this repurposed idea, I want to tell you about something really fun that’s happening in the Upcycle Sharin’ facebook group {click on that link to join the other 50,000 members}!

monthly upcycle challenge

Monthly Themed Upcycle Challenge

At the beginning of each month this year, we’ll be posting a themed upcycling challenge.  You’ll have the chance to link up one {or more} of your favorite projects that fit the theme {you don’t need to have a blog … you can simply link a photo} and readers will have the chance to vote on their favorites!  So fun, right?  Even cooler?  We have sponsors each month so the winner will receive an awesome prize from one of our favorite brands!

This month’s theme is STORAGE and the challenge is sponsored by HomeRight, the maker of my favorite sprayer {click that link to see the creative way I used my sprayer} and the perfect tool for all upcyclers!

The person with the most votes in this month’s challenge will win a Super Finish Max Paint Sprayer and a Medium Spray Shelter, valued at about $150.

How to Join the Upcycle Challenge

Check out my upcycled flower frog idea then link up your project in the link party below and vote for your favorites!  Voting begins on January 16th at 12:01 am PT and ends January 31st at 11:59 pm PT.

Dukes and Duchesses Upcycled Storage Project

I have a real thing for flower frogs and love to use the ones with points to hold photos or cards but I also love the ones full of spaces because they make the best pen and pencil holders!

repurposed floral frog pen holder

You don’t have to do a thing to make the floral frogs ready to use although I’ve often thought about painting some in bright colors to match my home.  While I love the idea of that and think it would look amazing, I’m also pretty smitten with the aged green and can’t bring myself to cover it over.

I love using frogs to hold pens because they add such a fun element … simple but quirky and perfectly suited to match a feminine or masculine style.

And you can grab the pen you need quickly because they’re all displayed right there in the flower frog!  Perfect, right?

I’d love to see what you do with flower frogs.  And I’d love to see your upcycled storage projects.  Share them in the link party below … and be sure to check out the projects from the Upcycle Sharin’ bloggers that are joining in this month!

What a fun way to use a flower frog, and perfect for holding pencils, and pens!
