Two Ingredient Steak Marinade

It’s grilling season and I have a great recipe to add to your summer menu.  This steak marinade recipe was created by my friend, Amanda, and when I saw it on her instagram, I couldn’t wait to try it.  She was sweet enough to let me post it here to share with all of you and I promise, it will quickly become a favorite!  With only two ingredients, it takes no time to whip up but the robust flavor makes it taste like you’ve been slaving away in the kitchen.

To make this steak marinade, you’ll need just two easy-to-find ingredients: 1/2 cup dark ale {I used Guinness but any dark ale will work} and 1/2 cup grainy mustard.  You’ll also obviously need your favorite cut of steak {affiliate link} although this marinade would also be delicious on chicken.

Mix the mustard and ale together in a large ziploc bag and add the steak.  Let it marinate in the fridge for an hour or two then place the steaks on a hot grill and cook until the color reaches the desired point.

While the steak is grilling, add the leftover marinade to a small saucepan, bring to a boil on the stovetop, then turn to medium low and let simmer for ten or fifteen minutes.  Serve extra sauce in ramekins … it makes a great dipping sauce for the steak!

Garnish as desired and serve with your favorite vegetables and sides for a delicious grilled dinner!
