Pineapple Succulent Planter

I’m late to hop on to the pineapple trend {like really late!} but I’m a bit smitten with them lately and completely smitten with this little pineapple succulent planter made from a mason jar.  This would make such a fun hostess gift for a friend or a sweet teacher appreciation gift and it’s so simple to make … which is the best kind of homemade gift, right?

To make a pineapple succulent planter, you’ll need a small, short mason jar, bright yellow spray paint, a small craft or paring knife or a sharpie, and a small succulent that looks like the top of a pineapple.

Start by spray painting the mason jar bright yellow and let it dry completely.

Using a craft knife or a small paring knife, gently make small notches in the yellow paint, mimicking the texture of a pineapple.  If you don’t want to use a knife, you can simply draw the notches on lightly with a black sharpie.

Fill the mason jar with potting soil and plant a small succulent in the jar, sticking out of the top.  Any succulent will look cute but try to find one that looks like the top of a pineapple to really get the full effect of this succulent planter.

In just minutes, plus a little drying time, you can have a personal, unique gift ready to go.
