After our trip to Disney World last summer, my youngest three kids are all about Toy Story. Tate is really into Jessie and wanted to dress up as the feisty redhead for Halloween. I pieced together a super simple Jessie costume that can easily be made at the last minute!
To make the Jessie costume, I bought a cheap white t-shirt from Walmart and painted it with yellow craft paint then added trim with red fabric paint.
I found Jessie’s belt buckle image online and printed it out {my printer clearly needs a new cartridge}, mounted it on cardstock, and glued it onto a wide piece of brown ribbon. The belt closes in the back with velcro that I glued on with hot glue.
I found a cheap cowboy hat at the party store and spray painted it red, added some cheap cowboy boots from Walmart, and a denim skirt that we already had {although jeans or a skirt from the thrift store would work} …
… and my little one has a super cute Jessie costume that cost very little and took less than thirty minutes to make. Tate will have a great time wearing it on Halloween night and then I’m sure it’ll take up a permanent spot in our dress-up box!
Are you whipping up any last minute costumes this year?
