Kid Friendly Thanksgiving Table

Turkey day is almost here and our family is excited!  It’s one of our very favorite holidays and we love everything about the day!  Yesterday, I shared the main table where the adults will sit for Thanksgiving dinner and now I want to show you the kid-friendly Thanksgiving table.

My three youngest kids sit at their own table right next to the bigger table.  It allows us to still be able to chat with the younger ones but they get their own kid-sized table with activities to keep them busy.

I like to decorate the kids’ table with lots of child-friendly decor {you can see the kids’ tables from past years here: 2011 and 2010}.

Thanksgiving

This year, I used simple printable cutlery and napkin holders at each place so the kids can write the things they’re thankful for …

… and made little sugar cone cornucupias full of treats to munch on while the kiddos are waiting for dinner to be served.  {That wait can feel like forever when you’re small!}

I covered the table with a white tablecloth and topped it with white paper then set out buckets of crayons in the center of the table.  Providing an activity for the kids always helps them to sit through a long meal rather than wanting to eat and run.

Thanksgiving

This year, the kids added a few touches of their own to their table, which I loved.

Lila went leaf collecting and then sat down and made these adorable leaf turkeys {they were totally her idea and I love them}.  She set one at each place.

And little Tate made a fingerprint turkey on a tiny canvas {inspiration found here}.  We used it as part of the centerpiece and will keep digging it out every year as a cute bit of Thanksgiving decor.

Thanksgiving

I know my kids will be having a great time at their table and I hope you and your loved ones will enjoy your day as well!

    I love this table! All of the ideas are so cute. Lila is very creative. Way to go Lila!

    So, how do you get your kids to respect each other and not fight. I have two that are terrible!
