The Back to School Treat

A couple of weeks ago I shared the last ten years of back to school treats I’ve made for my kiddos on their first day of school.

Yesterday the tradition continued.  This year I made Krispy Apple Treats from Gourmet Mom on the Go.  I made one change and used green Starburst candies for the leaves rather than royal icing {I microwaved each candy for seven seconds and then shaped the softened candy into a leaf shape}.

They were cute and delicious and a fun way to celebrate a successful first day of school.

I love those apples…who cares for the calories when they look so yummy! Great tip for the leaf! I also followed your link and gave you my vote as your memory shadow box is simply gorgeous.
