Ribbon Wrapped Vase

I keep walking by a gorgeous and vibrant ribbon wrapped vase in the floral department of my grocery store.  It’s beautiful but it’s priced at almost twenty dollars and I knew I could make one for just a couple of dollars.  I have plenty of vases from past flower deliveries and I grabbed some satin ribbon and created this beautiful vase for next to nothing.  Add a cheap bouquet of grocery store flowers and you have a lovely gift or centerpiece!

To make this ribbon wrapped vase, you’ll need a clear glass vase with straight sides and one inch wide satin ribbon in any color.

If you don’t already have these supplies at home, check your local thrift store for vases and ribbon or click on the photos below for door step delivery.

Cut a long strip of ribbon, enough to wrap around the vase from top to bottom.  Find the center point and place it around the bottom of the vase, pulling the ends of the ribbon around to the front.

Cross the ribbon ends over each other and pull them in the opposite direction from each other, wrap them around the back of the vase, and repeat until the entire vase is covered with the ribbon formation.  Space the ribbon evenly all the way up the vase.

Tie a knot at the top to prevent the ribbon from coming undone …

That’s all there is to it.

Add a bouquet of flowers and in just minutes you’ll have a gorgeous gift for a friend or a beautiful centerpiece for a dinner party.
