Paper Cone Snack Station

Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with CVS/pharmacy for the “Make It a Healthier Summer” campaign. I am being sponsored by CVS/pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.

One of the things I love about summer are the impromptu get-togethers.  Friends come over to play or to swim {we live in Texas, after all, and swimming is our summer survival technique}, and our days are fairly carefree and filled with intentional fun.  When friends drop in, I like to provide simple snacks for the kids and a paper cone snack station makes it easy to grab a snack without stopping the fun.

Lately, we’ve been eating a lot of snacks from the Gold Emblem Abound line at CVS/pharmacy, a product line that’s perfect for an active lifestyle.  Launched in June 2014, the Gold Emblem Abound line offers a broad range of better-for-you snack and grocery items.  The products don’t contain any artificial flavors or preservatives and contain 0 grams trans fats.  That makes them the perfect choice for my family.  The line also contains products that are certified gluten free, sodium free, cholesterol free, and contain sources of protein, fiber, omega-3s, probiotic cultures, and potassium.

A couple of our favorites from the Gold Emblem Abound line are the Banana Crisps and the Fuji Apple and Raspberry Clusters.  These crispy treats are made with freeze dried fruit and have no added sugar.  The flavor is delicious and it’s so easy to grab a bag and serve it as a snack or take it with us to a soccer game.  Each bag contains 1.5 cups of fruit, making these snacks a great substitute when fresh fruit isn’t handy.

And they’re perfect for serving in a paper cone snack station.  To create the station, make paper cones from cute scrapbook paper {just cut a large semi circle and bring the edges together into a cone then hot glue the overlapping area} and fill them with your snack of choice.  We love these freeze-dried snacks but I also fill the cones with nuts, trail mix, or even small crackers.

With just a few minutes of work and a little creativity, summer playdates will feel like a party.
