The next big holiday to celebrate is Easter and I’m already planning out the table. Who else loves decorating a table more than they love sitting at it {wink}? I made upcycled carrot party favor boxes to fill with treats for the kids on Easter and I couldn’t resist making these super easy paper carrot cupcake toppers, too!
Supplies for Paper Carrot Cupcake Toppers
I made these carrot cupcake toppers with my Cricut machine and saved the file in Cricut Design Space so you can use it too. I made it so simply, using a triangle shape and rectangles for the green top. You can modify it to make the carrots larger or smaller to suit your needs.
In addition to the file, you’ll need orange and green cardstock, wooden skewers {broken or cut in half} or toothpicks, and a glue gun.
How to Make Paper Carrot Cupcake Toppers
Using your Cricut, cut the rectangles and triangles out of cardstock, cutting one orange triangle and five thin rectangles for each topper.
If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can easily make these by hand. They definitely don’t have to be cut perfectly to be really cute.
Just grab a pair of scissors, cut the shapes out of cardstock, and continue with the rest of the instructions.
Place a line of glue across the back of the top of the carrot and place the green rectangles into the glue, placing them however you like. A bit of a whimsical look is better, in my opinion.
Using another dab of hot glue, attach the skewer or toothpick to the back of the carrot.
In no time at all, you have a super cute cupcake topper that looks really festive at an Easter party or egg hunt or on the holiday table.
Bake some cupcakes or grab some at the store {because no one cares if they’re storebought or homemade!} …
… and celebrate Easter with family or friends.
These whimsical cupcake toppers are the perfect easy Easter craft idea for your holiday gathering!
