No-Sew Jeans Pocket Garland

Summer is on its way {quite soon, judging by our Texas weather report} and I’m ready for poolside entertaining!  This versatile no-sew jeans pocket garland will be a mainstay for our outdoor eating this summer.

jeans pocket garland

I hit up the thrift store and bought a few pairs of old jeans, paying attention to the style of the pockets on each pair.  I wanted simple but you could definitely go for something with some bling.

thrifted jeans

I cut the pockets from the jeans, cutting through both layers so that the pockets remained as pockets.

At this point, you could decorate the pockets if you want.  They’d be cute with painted stripes or some vinyl labels, wouldn’t they?  I left mine plain so they’ll work for any function or holiday.

cut pockets

Using a craft knife and a cutting mat, I made slits inside the seams near the top {don’t cut through the seams or the pockets will unravel and open up over time} …

… then tied the pockets together with ribbon.  The ribbon can easily be changed out to match any occasion or theme!

ribbon ties

Hang the garland on a fence or on the edge of a table or wherever it can conveniently be accessed …

… and fill it up with all the things you need for your party or meal: paper straws, plastic cutlery, napkins, or even condiments.

This project is cheap to make, so quick to throw together, and is such a fun and practical garland for all of your summer entertaining!
