‘Tis the season for fun activities and time with family and I have a cute idea that will help you kick family movie night up a notch: melting snowman floats! These treats are easy to make and the kids will love them … and they’ll turn an everyday moment into a memory this Christmas!

Right now, DPSG is teaming up with VUDU so you can relax and enjoy movies at home. Through the month of December at Walmart, when you buy ten 2 liter or 0.5 liter six packs of RC Cola®, Sunkist®, Canada Dry®, A&W®, 7UP®, SUN DROP®, and Squirt®, you’ll receive a $5 VUDU credit! So head to Walmart, fill your cart up with soda, and head home for a fun and festive movie night with friends and family!

To set up a melting snowman floats bar, set out the ingredients within easy reach of the kids. Paper straws and a cute chalkboard sign providing instructions always make it feel more festive!

You’ll need a variety of soda {buying in bulk will earn you that VUDU credit and I got my Canada Dry®, 7UP®, Squirt®, A&W®, Sunkist®, SUN DROP®, and RC Cola® at my local Walmart for only $1.00!} …

… scoops of ice cream {pre-scooping the ice cream makes it easier for kids to serve themselves}, and brown candy for buttons.

Let the kids pour their favorite soda into a cup {leave lots of room at the top because the ice cream will make the soda fizz} and add a scoop of ice cream with candy buttons poked into it. The float looks like a snowman has stayed just a little too long and is melting away!

Then turn on a movie and enjoy time with those you love … after all, that’s what makes the holiday season special, right?
