Leap Year Frog Cones

Welcome to February, all twenty-nine days!  When Leap Year only comes once every four years, you have to celebrate!  And frogs just seem like the natural choice for anything that has to do with leaping, don’t they?  These leap day frog cones are so quick and easy but the kids will love them … and you’ll create a sweet memory!

To serve up a frog cone, scoop a big lump of green ice cream or sherbet onto a green cone.  Lime sherbet is a great choice since it has such a bright vivid color, but mint chocolate chip or pistachio will work equally well.

Melt white candy melt or white chocolate chips and pipe eyeballs onto two junior mint candies then stick them into the top of the scoop of ice cream.

You can stop there or you can add a little candy melt smile.  My kids voted for the smile so we had a batch of very happy frog cones to celebrate an early leap year!

These fun treats take only minutes to make but they’ll ensure your kiddos remember leap day until another one comes along in a few years!
