How to Add Color to a Room

I love color in our home and over the last couple of years I’ve embraced it more and more, looking for ways to add color and contrast to every room.  Kids’ rooms are the obvious place to add bright color but it’s easy to incorporate vivid colors into other rooms as well.  Check out these fun tips explaining how to add color to a room.

how to add color to a room

Paint a window frame in a bright color {perfect for a vintage home with wide window frames}.

Use bright paint in small spaces like a hallway …

color. yellow hallway

… and even mix it up by making different hallways different colors.

Add color in unexpected rooms like the laundry room …

… or a small room such as a butler’s pantry.

Add pops of color by painting the coffee table or another piece of furniture …

… or go for the unexpected, like adding a bright pattern to the back of a chair.

Add one fun, colorful piece like this clock …

… or create a gallery wall with bright picture frames.

Or go big and shock people by painting your piano!

Hey! I love all your ideas on here, I know my question is not about the color its about the black storage furniture in one of the pictures. Do you know where to purchase it? I have been looking everywhere for one of those!

Those cubbies were found at a second hand store years ago and painted black. I have no idea where you might find something similar … sorry!
