Mason jars are one of the easiest ways to prepare a sweet little gift or holiday decoration. I love painting them {like my shamrock mason jar} but if you need a quick and easy idea, a holiday paper insert for a mason jar is the way to go! It’s so simple and can be customized for any holiday.
Grab a mason jar and cut a piece of patterned scrapbook paper to fit the inside. Measuring the paper by wrapping it around the outside is the easiest way to do this but make the insert slightly shorter than the jar to account for the curved top.
Cut a design from the center of the scrapbook paper. Choose any cute symbol to match the holiday. I cut this bunny using my cutting machine but you could use a stencil and a craft knife or trim around a cute sticker shape if you don’t have a cutting machine.
Gently roll the paper just enough to insert it into the mason jar …
… then unroll it into place. The holiday symbol should sit front and center. If the mason jar has any writing on it, place the writing on the opposite side of the cut out area.
Fill the mason jar with your favorite candy {I like the bright colors in jellybeans but any seasonal or colorful candy is perfect} …
… put the lid on tightly and wrap it with a piece of ribbon or tulle {I love the fluffy texture of tulle}.
In just a few minutes you’ve got a cute hostess gift or neighbor gift and something that will work for any holiday or season!

I love this. Using it for a football tailgate centerpiece idea. Did you have to tape the paper at all to keep it together while in the jar?

No … the jar just holds it in place. I’d love to see your centerpiece … share it on the Dukes and Duchesses facebook page!
