If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, you are SO lucky. This week I had the chance to tour the brand new Kroger Marketplace store opening in Castle Hills {at 4620 S.H. 121, Lewisville, TX 75056} and it’s nothing short of fabulous. Let me give you a photo tour then grab my grocery store printable below, enter to win one of the Kroger gift cards I’m giving away, and RUN to the new Kroger store when it opens on Friday, April 10, 2015!
This new Kroger Marketplace {the eighth Marketplace to open in North Texas} is huge! 120,000 square feet {and a 1/4 mile store perimeter} have been filled with 20 check-out lanes and 60 aisles of fresh food, apparel and shoes, home goods, small appliances, and a full-service pharmacy with two drive-through lanes. There’s even a jewelry store on site and a Kroger Fuel Center out front. This store gives new meaning to one-stop shopping!
Skylights line the ceiling providing natural lighting {Kroger is committed to making progress toward reducing waste and conserving energy and will be Energy Star certified}, aisles have been widened to allow customers more room to pass, and gravity flow shelving in various areas mean you won’t be reaching to the back of the shelf to find your product.
This new Kroger has a large fresh food area where customers can buy hot, ready-to-eat meals, sandwiches and panini, and ready-to-eat salads, entrees, and vegetables. Kroger even carries an entire line of Perfect Fit meals for the health conscious.
A sushi bar will serve fresh sushi as well as rice bowls, noodle soup, and Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches prepared on site.
And don’t worry, Starbucks is there too!
In addition to all of these great in-store spots to grab a quick snack or meal, this new Kroger has an entire seating area so you can grab something to eat and enjoy it right away.
The produce area in Kroger carries Texas-grown produce and more than 150 USDA certified organic fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, a juice bar, and over 100 varieties of bulk foods.
Kroger features a large wine area {my upcycle-loving self is smitten with that fixture} which carries over 1500 types of wine. A wine consultant and sampling bar are available on site.
Do you prefer beer? The beer department carries more than 500 craft, micro-brew, import, bombers, seasonal, and specialty brands, including many local beer brands.
Don’t forget the cheese to go with the wine! The cheese variety is outstanding and you can even sample before you buy!
Planning a special meal? In addition to more than 50 varieties of seafood, you can grab a lobster and get it steamed while you shop for the rest of your dinner items. {I love this idea and I’m planning a special at-home date night with my guy!}
Not in the mood for lobster but feel like a good steak instead? Buy prime grade beef cut to order or a thick, handmade gourmet burger and have it grilled right there in the store. Your lunch break just got better!
Kroger is filled with everyday items and lots of specialty items as well. The Live Naturally products span an entire area and include vitamins, supplements, super foods, probiotics, protein powders, other health products, and quite possibly the largest selection of fitness bars you’ve ever seen! On a special diet? Labels throughout the store mark all gluten free items to make shopping easy.
Kitchen Place is filled with many of the great dishes and gadgets that you see at most Kroger stores but you can also find small appliances including toasters, mixers, and blenders from top brands.
Shopping for groceries but need some home decor as well? You’re covered. Kroger Marketplace sells bed, bath, and home decor! You can even buy a vacuum while you’re out grabbing another container of milk.
Looking for baby clothes or toys? Check. Check. Kroger carries popular essentials for babies and toddlers as well as the latest toys. Looking for office and computer supplies? Kroger has that too, including a smartphone and tablet shop.
And guess what? Kroger Marketplace even sells contemporary clothing, shoes, and accessories from top labels. As well, Fred Meyer Jewelers, a fine jewelry shop and the third largest jewelry retailer in the nation, has a shop within the store featuring watches, bracelets, necklaces, and even engagement and wedding rings!
Impressive, right? Just wait till you see it!
