#GrabSummerFun with Pizza and Ice Cream

After a crazy busy, way-too-scheduled school year, our summer mission is to have fun and keep it simple.
2012 06 016

My younger kids love playing with the neighbor boys next door so we invited them over for a little summertime water play.  I went to Walmart for some treats {Tombstone Pizza and Nestle ice cream Drumsticks} and some casual party supplies …

… and we got ready for some wet and wild fun in the backyard!  To make it feel a bit festive {and because I need a bit of a theme for everything}, I bought water toys in blue, green, and yellow … bright, summer colors!

The kids had lots of fun tearing through the backyard, spraying each other with water guns.  I love that the simplest of activities bring so many smiles and laughter.

A summer storm threatened to mess up our plans …

… so we went inside for a short break and some Tombstone pizza.

I cooked three pizzas {Supreme, Pepperoni, and Cheese} and those kiddos ate every bite!

And they all commented on how good it was.  I love that delicious pizza doesn’t have to be expensive.  Or delivered.

The rain stopped so we were able to go back outside to continue the fun.  I set up a water balloon pinata {inspired by this} …

… and the kids went nuts smashing the balloons with a broom stick.  They had a great time with the pinata and we can’t wait to do it again.

We finished off the summer fun with Nestle Drumsticks.  When I brought the basket of Drumsticks out, there was a collective cheer from the kids.  Who doesn’t love ice cream covered in chocolate?

It was the perfect sweet ending to a really sweet time and a great way to #grabsummerfun.

And it was a great reminder that summer fun can be simple.

With drumsticks & tombstone it appears a little rain didn’t mess up the fun factor. It all looked like a lot of great summer fun 🙂
