Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with CVS/pharmacy for the “Make It a Healthier Summer” campaign. I am being sponsored by CVS/pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers. #CVSHealthierSummer

Since my oldest was four, one or more kids in our family have played sports.  My husband and I have done our fair share of coaching, team management, cheering, and snack duty!  When it’s my turn to bring the snack I love to come up with something creative, healthy, and fun.  These game day team snacks are cute and easy … and I’ve even included free printables so you can make your own for your little athlete!

Plain ice cream cones make the perfect edible snack container.  You can fill them with snacks in advance or pour the goodies in at snack time.  I love the fact that there’s very little to throw away at the end.

For cone fillers, I like to serve something filled with protein.  Nuts, trail mix, or snack mix are all great choices and the Gold Emblem Abound product line from CVS/pharmacy is a favorite.  I love the variety of snacks they offer and it’s easy to mix a few together for a unique treat.

The Gold Emblem Abound products don’t contain any artificial flavors or preservatives and contain 0 grams trans fats.  And they’re delicious!  CVS/pharmacy is one of our favorite places to shop for snacks.

Once you’ve got the cones and snacks to fill them, you’re ready to print the cone wrappers.  Download the game day printables you want to use:

Cut to fit and wrap around the cone, attaching the ends together with a small piece of tape or a glue dot.  Just be sure the glue won’t stick to the cone and get eaten!

The cones give the kids an easy way to hold their snack and then the wrapper can be removed and the cone can be eaten as well.

I’ve tried Gold Emblem Abound products. They are the best because they are good quality and you can’t beat the prices.
