A Fall Picnic

This fall picnic is part of a sponsored post for Market Street.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love no season more than I love fall.  The cooler temperatures, the jewel-toned leaves, and the end of a long, hot summer all combine together to make autumn the perfect season in Texas.  And cooler temperatures mean it’s the perfect time to sneak away with your sweetie for a lovely fall picnic.

A fall picnic is the perfect spontaneous, romantic afternoon date.  And it couldn’t be easier to throw together.  Just a few items that you already have hanging around the house and a quick stop to Market Street for some goodies to fill the picnic basket, and you’re ready to go.

Choose a secluded location, preferably one surrounded by beautiful red and gold leaves.  Spread a velvety blanket among the fallen leaves …

… and top it with cushions for cozy seating.  {I just grabbed a few toss pillows from the couch.}

Bring something to drink.  Warm spiced cider, bought in large glass jugs at Market Street and served from a vintage thermos {a fabulous antique store find}, is perfect for a fall picnic.

Instead of a full meal, I love to pack a picnic basket or a vintage suitcase full of snacks and appetizers.

Artisan breads {black pepper parmesan and good ‘n’ grainy are my favorites} …

… and prepared appetizers from Market Street are just the thing for filling the picnic basket.  Separate dips and spreads can be found in the deli or you can choose a sampler to try a taste of a few different things.  The spinach dip is delicious spread on chunks of bread or crackers …

… and the jalapeno popper dip and smoked gouda pimiento dip are perfect for a picnic.

The best pairing for these savory spreads?  Sweet conversation with your loved one while sipping on cider.

And don’t forget to grab a little treat from the bakery for a sweet end to the afternoon.

Before the weather gets too chilly, grab some goodies from Market Street and surprise your love with a romantic fall picnic!

    Those wonderful artisan breads make me want to run out to the bakery and get some and slather it with some sweet cream butter! What a wonderful little picnic!

    This is a wonderful idea for fall pictures! I think I am going to use this one for our upcoming family photo shoot.
