Are your kids already back in school?  We’re just starting our final week of summer break and then we’ll be back to the grind … with all five kids in school this year!  I’m joining up with a pile of other bloggers to share some great back to school ideas {so be sure to read through the whole post and check out all the other links near the bottom}.  The kids always need a pencil box and this embellished pencil box is not only cute but I’m including a free printable so the kids can jot down important thoughts and notes during their school day!

embellished pencil box with free printable

I started with a simple metal pencil box from Walmart.  Totally affordable and super cute with its bold colors.

Using vinyl and my cutting machine, I added text to the front of the box …

… then made this cute little printable to stick inside.  During the day, the kids can jot down homework assignments, ideas they had, or things they wanted to remember to tell Mom!  At the end of the day, the note can come home with them and a new one can be stuck in its place.  Like the idea?  Grab your things to remember printable for your kids!

Use a cute magnet to attach it to the inside of the metal box and you’ve got a fun way to help your kiddo remember life.

Don’t forget the DIY personalized pencils as well!  And get the year off to a really great start with these back to school cupcakes!
