Easter Bunny Slime

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a kid’s craft around here but my girls and I did a little slime crafting this weekend and I thought you might all enjoy seeing what we were up to.  I won’t lie: I kind of have a love/hate relationship with slime.  However, my girls love it so I’m embracing slime {with a few key rules, like keep it away from my furniture!}.  This weekend we made Easter bunny slime and it turned out so cute!  It would make a really cute Easter gift for friends or classmates or a fun addition to the Easter basket!

How to Make Slime Without Borax

To make this borax-free Easter bunny slime, you’ll need just three ingredients: two 4-ounce bottles of white school glue, 4 tablespoons of contact lens saline solution, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.  You’ll also need something to color the slime, if desired.  You can add glitter or use food coloring or craft paint to color it.

Mix the ingredients together, blending well until the slime has thickened and is no longer sticky.  If the slime is still sticky, add tiny amounts of contact lens solution to decrease the stickiness, blending really well after each addition.

Place the slime in a small, clear jar with an airtight lid and then decorate it to look like an Easter bunny.

I used my Cricut Maker to cut ears out of white cardstock then cut the inner ears and the face out of pink and black vinyl.  You can also cut the ears out by hand if you don’t have a cutting machine and decorate the face with a marker.  You’ll also need a cotton ball for the tail.
