This dry erase printable brushing chart was created as part of a sponsored post for American Dental Association.
I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to teeth. While I won’t swear that I floss religiously {wink}, taking care of my teeth and my kids’ teeth is really important to me. As I tell my kids, you get one set of adult teeth and they need to last for a really long time. I believe in regular dental visits and, in addition to other healthy habits, I like my kids to brush their teeth two times a day. Like most kids, it isn’t a given that brushing always happens so I created a dry erase printable brushing chart to serve as a visual reminder … and you can use it too!
Did you know that February is National Children’s Dental Health Month? It’s a great time to think about healthy habits and help those little ones take responsibility for their hygiene. Oral health begins at birth. Babies are born with teeth under their gums so good oral hygiene is important right from the start. It’s just as important to care for baby teeth as it is to care for adult teeth. The American Dental Association {ADA} recommends taking your baby to the dentist after the first tooth arrives but before their first birthday. Being proactive can help your little one have a healthy smile for life!
Healthy habits take place all day long, not just with a morning and evening brushing. The ADA recommends kids use fluoride toothpaste with the ADA Seal of Acceptance, avoid sugary drinks and baby bottles in bed, and start flossing as soon as teeth touch. You can check out 10 quick tips here.
Starting and ending the day with clean teeth definitely helps maintain a healthy smile … and instead of nagging, you can remind the kiddos with this simple brushing chart. Download the colorful version that we use or a simple black and red version by clicking the link below.

This printable is designed to fit into an 8×10 frame so it can be used repeatedly with a dry erase marker. If you’d prefer, you can also print it out weekly and tape it to the mirror.
Once you’ve printed the chart, trim it as needed to fit the frame.
Place it behind the glass in a frame and secure the back.
To make it easy, you’ll want to keep a dry erase marker at hand. Use a piece of adhesive Velcro or an adhesive magnet to attach the marker to the frame.
Place one piece on the frame and one piece on the marker. Since the adhesive tends to wear out after a while, you may want to use a dab of hot glue to hold it in place.
The kids can check the appropriate box after brushing {there are two boxes for each day, one for morning and one for evening} …
… and you can wipe the glass clean at the end of every week so it’s ready to be reused when Sunday rolls around again.
This is such a simple way to keep the kids on track. What tips and tricks do you have to help your kids develop healthy habits?

This is the most awesome idea ever! When my kids were little, I had to do something similar with my kids when they were little. It was such a chore to get them to brush!
What a great way to get kids to brush their teeth. Wish I would have thought to do something like this when my kids were little.
What a great way to keep the kids on track. I do think things like this are helpful when trying to establish good habits.
Great idea it is definitely the fail safe way to keep kids on task. Dental health is so important and teeth do have to last a long time.
That is super cute. What a fun way of keeping track. I bet even really reluctant brushers would love it!
These are super cute! I would love to make one for my kids to encourage them to brush longer, and twice daily.
I like this idea because you can essentially choose any frame that suits your decor but still have the benefits of a dry-erase board. Also, this printable would be perfect for my fam!
Such a great idea that I wish we had thought of a LONG time ago. Would have made it so much easier than always reminding them!
