This DIY twig vase is part of a sponsored post for Bloomsy Box. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love fresh flowers! The surprise of the delivery, the bright colors, the fresh scent: it all just makes me smile. These beautiful flowers from BloomsyBox are bringing smiles this week and I made a simple DIY twig vase that houses them beautifully!
BloomsyBox is a flower subscription service delivered right to your doorstep.
Unique blooms are chosen every month …
… hand picked and hand tied, and shipped fresh to your home or office. Don’t you love the idea of receiving fresh flowers every month? I sure do!
This month, I received a bouquet of dianthus mixed with bright greenery that really made the flowers pop!
The bold pink flowers with their delicate fringed leaves are so beautiful for summer!
I knew they’d look amazing in a DIY twig vase and I had the perfect idea in mind. Last weekend, I had the chance to listen to Matthew Mead share some of his styling tips and he had a gorgeous vase in his display. I knew it wouldn’t be hard to make a DIY version!
I gathered some twigs and sticks at our local park …
… and shaped them around a glass vase. Using hot glue, I started randomly attaching pieces together, placing some straight up and down and laying some at angles. I kept adding more twigs until the vase was stable enough to stand on its own and I was happy with the way it looked.
I didn’t want the flowers to be obscured by the glass vase so I removed it once the vase shape was set and placed a small clear cup inside the twig vase. It’s much less noticeable but still provides a water reservoir for the flowers.
I arranged the BloomsyBox bouquet in the twig vase …
… allowing some flowers to poke through the twigs and sit at different heights. I love the contrast of the flowers against the rustic branches.
This twig vase is such a simple project and will look gorgeous every month with a new bouquet of BloomsyBox flowers!

This is really pretty and inspiring. I am going to try and make one for our next garden club meeting. Or maybe it could be a project for our ladies to make? Thanks so much.

Beautiful! I love the contrasting textures. This really looks “do-able”. Also, a great idea to use as a craft for my 7 year old and me.
Thanks,
Paige

when you used a glue gun to attach to the vase did it get stuck to the vase – little unclear how you pulled out the vase. Or did you just attach the twigs together with glue and used the vase as a base?
