DIY Repurposed Card Holder

This DIY repurposed card holder was created as part of a sponsored post for Minted.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  This post contains affiliate links.

Christmas cards are one of my favorite holiday traditions.  I love preparing them, I love mailing them, and I love receiving them.  It’s so fun to see life updates from friends you don’t talk to often. I even love the bragging that we all do about our kids and families.  If you can’t brag about the year’s accomplishments in a Christmas letter, when can you possibly brag {smile}?  This Christmas the cards we receive will be displayed on this DIY repurposed card holder , a simple project that adds some fun holiday decor to our home and provides a place to showcase our loved ones.

repurposed card holder

To make this repurposed card holder, I painted an old cabinet door with white spray paint and painted a small bundt pan bright red.

Using my cutting machine, I cut letters from red adhesive vinyl, applied them to the board …

… and used gorilla glue to attach the bundt pan in the center, spelling the word JOY on the cabinet door.

I love the stark contrast of the red against the white!

Rather than attaching hooks onto the board, I’m attaching our holiday cards to the edge of the board with tacks.  The wood is soft enough that the tacks easily stick into it.  If you create this project and the cabinet door is too hard to stick tacks into, you can glue clothespins or other clips around the edge to attach cards.

I can’t wait to fill this board with Christmas cards!

This year, I’m sending Christmas cards from Minted.

From traditional to modern, Minted has a huge selection of fresh designs with something for every style and the ability to customize with matching postage stamps, recipient addresses {I’m SO happy that I won’t be handwriting hundreds of addresses this year!}, and return addresses.

It’s so easy to design your cards online and you can even add a customized letter to the back!

Be sure to order before the holiday delivery deadlines!

And if holiday cards aren’t your thing or the holiday season is just too rushed, send out cards to celebrate the new year!

What a fun idea, and I have a mini bundt pan in my stash. Great way to display photos or Christmas cards.
