I live in the South and that may explain it but, to me, everything is better with a monogram. And this DIY monogrammed cutting board is not only great-looking but it’s super affordable and super easy to make! It looks great in the kitchen, is the perfect serving tray, and would make a fabulous gift!
I started with a simple bamboo cutting board. Home Goods has a large selection of cutting boards in all different sizes and this one was only $4.99.
To make your stencil, find a large sticker in a font you like and cut around it so that some of the background is intact. Apply it to the cutting board, removing the actual letter and just leaving the outline in place. If the letter you choose has a center, be sure to place that in the correct position.
I placed my sticker in the bottom corner of the cutting board but a large letter would also look great right in the center.
Using a heated wood-burning tool, outline the letter. If the lines aren’t as dark as you’d like after the first time drawing, repeat until you have the look you want.
If you want, fill in the letter completely or add stripes or another pattern.
Remove the sticker and admire your monogrammed cutting board.
For only a few dollars {and in only a few minutes}, you have a unique cheese tray …
… or a perfect wedding, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, or hostess gift.
This is such a great idea! I love personalized gifts, especially anything with a monogram, so I wanted to share a site with you. You can create your own design and they’ll do the monogramming for you 🙂 I just ordered a cutting board with our wedding invitation design on it!
