DIH Workshop at The Home Depot #DIHWorkshop

Last week I had a fun {girls only} DIY night out at the DIH {Do It Herself} Workshop at The Home Depot!  These fabulous chore charts were on the agenda.

DIH Workshop at The Home Depot :: chore chart board

The Home Depot supplied most of the materials we needed to complete the project along with a friendly, fun instructor named José.  Our group was small {just three of us} but it was really great to spend an evening out of the house, working on a useful project.  Who doesn’t need a little tools-included girl time every now and then?

We hammered, sanded, taped …

… and spray-painted but, with a bit of a different idea in mind, I took my chore board home half-finished.

Rather than completing my chore board, I used the same supplies to transform it into an art station.

an art station

I repainted the stripes and added some pink vinyl {cut with my Silhouette} …

… then screwed the jars into place where the clothespins were supposed to go …

… and glued the clothespins near the bottom.

I really love the way it turned out and I have the perfect spot in mind for this art station.  {Update: pop over and read this post to see how I’m using this art station.}

And I’ll definitely be registering for the next DIH Workshop!  Maybe I’ll see you there!

    Adorable, Randi! I’m sad I missed getting to DIY with you. Loved how you made the project your own!

    So cute! I was wondering where you got the jars? I would like to use that idea for attaching them to my daughters easel for her markers and such. Thanks in advance! 🙂

      Those jars are actually the replacement globes for outdoor jar lights … the kind you’d see hanging right outside the back door. You can find them at The Home Depot in the lighting section. There’s a plastic version as well but I like the glass better.
