Coffee Hazelnut Overnight Oats

This week I had to jump on the overnight oats trend and this coffee hazelnut overnight oats recipe was a great place to start!  It can be topped with chocolate or espresso chips, banana slices, or anything else that will blend nicely with the flavors.  Or, leave it plain as I did for a delicious, caffeinated and rich start to the day!

To make coffee hazelnut overnight oats, you’ll need

3/4 cup almond milk or regular milk or a combination of both {you could also experiment with vanilla almond milk … I’m sure it would be delicious}

1 cup rolled oats

2 shots espresso or strong coffee {about 2 ounces}

2 tablespoons hazelnut syrup {I use Torani but any brand will work}

fruit, coconut, or chocolate chips for garnish {optional}

Place all the ingredients in a mason jar or other lidded container, glass or plastic, and seal tightly.  You don’t have to stir the ingredients, just add them in layers.  Once sealed, place in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, stir the ingredients together to mix them completely and garnish as desired.  I tossed a few espresso chips on top for this photo but I actually really like the overnight oats without anything extra added on top.  The rich flavor is just right.

Serve straight out of the jar for an easy breakfast!  The blend of ingredients is creamy, just slightly sweet, and perfectly rich with coffee!  You can enjoy your breakfast and your morning coffee all in one jar {wink}!
