Chocolate Wishbone Place Cards for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my very favorite holidays! I love planning the menu, setting the tables, and spending time with family. Today I have a fun Thanksgiving idea for you: chocolate wishbone place cards, a take-home gift for guests that also doubles as a place card.

I saw these wishbone candy molds {affiliate link} in Country Living magazine and knew chocolate wishbones would make sweet treats for my Thanksgiving guests to take home after dinner.

I melted vanilla almond bark and poured it into the molds then placed the molds in the fridge until the wishbones were set.

Rather than wishing on real bones this Thanksgiving, our guests will be making wishes on these sweet treats.

Since everyone will likely be stuffed after a big turkey dinner, I’m planning on packing the bones in candy bags and sealing them with washi tape so our guests can take them home with them at the end of the meal.

They won’t just serve as a take-home favor though.  The names on the washi tape labels will allow these giant wishbones to double as placecards during dinner.

And don’t worry … the kids won’t be left out!  Chocolate wishbone lollipops {affiliate link} will be set at each place at the kids’ table …

But I also have to show you how cute these wishbones look without the packaging … add a strip of paper with a name written on it and you have an elegant placecard that can be nibbled on throughout dinner.

Fabulous, right?  These chocolate wishbone gifts for our guests might be my favorite touch this Thanksgiving!

And now on to the rest.  These chocolate wishbone place cards will cover you for the take-home gift but there’s still a lot of dinner left, right?

how big are these? I wanted to do the same thing you did and give them as favors but on the reviews they mentioned they were really big.

    Thanks

The large ones are about six or seven inches long … kind of a fun size. You can see they cover the plate. The lollipop size is much smaller – about three inches.

What a great idea. I can’t believe how smooth the chocolate came out. I always get at least one bubble.
