When we saw this idea for a book fairy halloween costume online, Kennedy loved it and knew this would be a really fun costume to wear. We used this great tutorial as a guideline and made very few changes. This is such a fun costume and we made it from one old dictionary found at Half Price Books so it was also extremely affordable.
We used ribbon to attach the book page tutu and made fewer layers than the original costume, only for a matter of simplicity.
To attach the wings, rather than elastic bands, we used long pieces of ribbon and attached them through the spine of the dictionary.
Kennedy didn’t dress up for our neighborhood festival but she’s planning to wear it on Halloween night when we take the little ones trick or treating. She’ll be the cutest book fairy on the block.
This book fairy halloween costume is simple to make, not at all time consuming, and is the perfect idea for a book lover or a teen or tween!

Yay! I love it! I hope the tutorial was easy enough to follow. She is an adorable book fairy and I am hoping to see a whole army or in our case encyclopedia set out there this year! ~Hugs, Merrilee
