A Tooth Fairy Doll

I’ve been spending at least an hour a week this summer sewing.  It sounds like nothing but it’s been so fun to have that time set aside and I love that I’m getting some projects crossed off my list.

One of the things I wanted to make was this adorable tooth fairy doll.  When I first saw it on Riley Blake Designs, I fell in love.  It’s so whimsical and so sweet {and it was designed by the two Elizabeths, who I happen to completely admire}.  I pinned it and put it on my to-do list for Tater Tots {even though she won’t be losing any teeth for a while}.

I whipped it up last week using some scraps I had lying around.  I used a pink patterned fabric for the front and pink gingham for the back …

… and pink chenille for the cute little pocket.  {Unlike the pattern, I only used one thickness of fabric for the pocket because the chenille is so thick.  I simply folded down the edges, sewed a top seam, and sewed it onto the doll.}

I also changed the face, using paint pens to add eyes and a tiny mouth.

Isn’t it cute?  It’ll be such a sweet tooth holder when those baby whites start falling out.

    That’s cute.

    I like that you set an hour aside to sew. I need to do that for scrapbooking. 🙂
