A Sundae Bar

We’ll be ringing in the new year a little early with the kiddos {no one is ready to stay up till midnight around here!} and we’ll be doing it with a sundae bar with sprinkle-dipped waffle bowls!

sundae bar with sprinkle dipped waffle bowls

I bought ready-made waffle bowls and added a bit of fun by dipping the edges of the waffle bowls in white candy melt, then in colorful sprinkles {you could use a color or a shaped sprinkle to match any party theme}.

Once dipped, I stuck them in the freezer until they hardened.  They look so much cuter and festive than plain bowls!  Plus, they’re edible which makes clean up easier {wink}.

We’re keeping the rest of the sundae bar really simple with ice cream …

… and a few toppings: a couple of syrup flavors, whipped cream, and mini chocolate chips.  You could add lots more toppings if you wanted: cherries, sprinkles, chopped nuts.

Simple but celebratory.  And a great way to end the year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Wishing you a fabulous 2012, Randi.
Also, LOVE the waffle bowls. I am definitely borrowing this idea for a child’s party in the near future.

How cute! I don’t have kiddos, but I think my adult friends would love this idea just as much. You must live in the south… the pic of the Blue Bell ice cream brought back memories of childhood in Texas. Blue Bell was always the best treat! Thanks for sharing the post. -Aimee (icouldsomakethat.com)
