A Santa Hot Cocoa Bar

I love, love, love a good hot cocoa party.  It’s truly the easiest way to entertain kids during the holiday season.  Grab a few things from the pantry, add a few fun DIY touches, and you’ve created a memorable moment.  This Santa hot cocoa bar couples a few simple ideas with a lot of fun!

Santa-themed mugs or duct-tape embellished disposable cups set a fun tone for the party.  A simple strip of duct tape and a few snips with the scissors and regular cups are turned into Santa suits.

Don’t worry about making them look perfect … remember, kids aren’t nearly as picky as we are!

Add a bowl of cocoa and some dishes of flavored marshmallows and let the kids add what they want to their cups.  Most grocery stores carry marshmallows in a variety of shapes and flavors at this time of year.

Jumbo marshmallows tie in to the Santa theme with a simple “belt” made from fruit roll-ups …

… and so do the cookies.

Let the kids stir their cocoa with chocolate Santa lollipops or minty candy canes.

And my favorite touch?  Cool off too-hot cocoa with a little milk poured from a chocolate Santa pitcher.

Using a knife, gently carve a small hole in the top of a hollow chocolate Santa and fill it with milk or cream.  It makes such a fun way to serve milk and is really simple for little hands to maneuver.

Throwing a hot cocoa party is so easy and creates lasting holiday memories for the kiddos!
