A Bowling Party :: How to Make Tattoos

Today I’m going to show you how to make tattoos!  These homemade tattoos will be in the bowling ball goody bags at my twins’ bowling party this week.  You won’t believe how simple it is to make your own personalized tattoos.

how to make tattoos

All you need to make your own tattoos is tattoo paper and a printer {this tattoo paper is made by Silhouette but you don’t need a Silhouette machine for this project}.

how to make tattoos

I designed these tattoos by using an online image, downloading it into Photoshop Elements, and adding text.  Before printing on the tattoo paper, the image has to be flipped so the text is mirrored. {These tattoos say, “I went bowling with Luke and Lila”.}

Once the ink is dry, you carefully adhere the adhesive paper over top …

… and use a scraper to make sure it’s firmly placed.

Cut the tattoos apart and they’re ready to go.

They’re applied exactly the way any temporary tattoo is applied … a bit of water and they’re on.

They make a fun birthday party favor, don’t they?

    These are so cute! I just bought a Silhouette a few months ago. Thanks for pointing out that they carry tattoo paper. I’m going to get some now! 🙂

    Those are so cute! I’m going to have to try this out. I like that you don’t need to have a Silhouette to do it too. 🙂

      Honestly, I’m not sure, Kelly. I haven’t looked. I got mine online at http://www.silhouetteamerica.com.

    Luke and Lila must LOVE these! I know my kids would love it if all of their friends had tattoos with their names on them. Genius!

      You could set it up like a print and cut but truthfully, it’s probably easier to just run them through your printer.
