Hot Apple Pie Dip {and Tips for Entertaining}

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of NABISCO. The opinions and text are all mine.

This is my favorite time of year. I love the holiday festivities and I love that the holidays prompt me to be more intentional about hosting friends in our home. Entertaining doesn’t have to be difficult or stressful. I have some great tips for hosting casual get-togethers with friends {and a delicious recipe for hot apple pie dip!}.

When hosting friends, keep the food simple. No one cares if you serve homemade or storebought items. Grab a selection of NABISCO crackers, lay out a variety of cheeses, and make one special stand-out dish. Hot apple pie dip is not only a total palate pleaser but it looks great when it’s served in hollowed apples.

To make the dip, mix together 8 ounces of cream cheese, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Stir in half of a chopped apple. {Note: this amount will fill two apples. Multiply it to serve a crowd.}

Hollow out enough apples for each guest …

… then fill them with the mixture. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and add chopped pecans. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until heated through. Serve a platter of filled apples along with a basket of NABISCO Wheat Thins. Your guests will love it!

In addition to simple food, serve simple drinks. A seasonal punch or a variety of Italian soda flavors are my favorite go-to beverage options.

I like to set up separate food and beverage stations in order to force people to move around and mingle. You don’t want all your guests hovering in the kitchen {smile}!

For a casual party, I almost always use disposable plates and napkins. There are so many cute patterns available and using disposable partyware makes clean-up a breeze.

And my biggest tip? Relax and enjoy your guests. It doesn’t matter if food gets cold or beverages run out. Enjoy the moments and make the most of the holiday season!
