I love a good repurposed craft and repurposing ties seems like the perfect idea for this time of year.  After all, what Dad hasn’t received a necktie a time or two?  And maybe even a few that he doesn’t like.  If your husband doesn’t have his own stash of outdated ties, you can find a pile at the thrift store for a dollar or two.  Grab a bunch and check out these 15 ways to repurpose a necktie!

Unique Ways to Upcycle an Old Necktie

Repurposing red and blue ties into necktie flags is such a clever idea.  I love the Union Jack!

You can turn an old necktie into a handy pouch, perfect for a guy or a girl.

A pile of neckties make a fun and unique lampshade.

And a tie looks great turned into a necktie cuff bracelet {I’d love to find a nautical print tie to do this with}.

An old tie can be turned into a neat coffee cuff …

… or you can raid the closet and make a necktie wreath.

You’ll never have to worry about someone else having the same tote when you’re carrying this necktie bag.

How about putting those old ties on the wall in a sunburst clock?

You wouldn’t expect it but a tie makes a pretty ruffled neckline …

… a trendy and colorful pillow …

… or a cute and novel eyeglass case.

I love this necktie belt …

… and I’m completely partial to a vase full of necktie rosettes!

A necktie skirt, anyone?

Or maybe just a simple necktie headband.

However you repurpose that old necktie, it’s sure to give it new life!

When I was in high school, another student made a dress out of neckties! I remember being amazed that you could use items for other purposes than what they were originally intended! Now repurposing items is one of my favorite craft activities. Thank you for your site!
