Reindeer Treats

This week Tate had a playgroup Christmas party and I took full advantage of the opportunity to whip up some of the fun reindeer ideas I had pinned on Pinterest.  {You can follow my Christmas Cheer board or my Christmas Cheer for Kids board to see what I’m loving right now.}
I love the reindeer {or “rootbeer”, as Tate calls them} theme.
I made candy cane reindeer {inspiration found here} for Tate to give to her friends.

Instead of wrapping the candy canes with yarn like the original idea, I used brown pipecleaners.  It made the whole process really quick and simple.

We took a snack to share: popcorn served in reindeer cones {inspiration found here}.  The edible eyes make them look a bit shell-shocked, don’t they?

And I wrapped Tate’s book for the book exchange in a little reindeer gift bag {inspiration found here}.

These reindeer ideas were all so quick and simple to make, and although Tate didn’t play with one single friend at her party {my only explanation: she’s three}, she was happy to bring her “rootbeer” treats.

      I used a bit of melted chocolate to attach the eyes and the nose … the nose is a red peanut M&M.
