I love gift giving and I especially love finding creative ways to give gifts. Christmas time makes it easy and the twelve days of Christmas is such a natural fit. This twelve days of Christmas gift tree is simple to make, looks so fun, can be customized for any budget, and will make a really memorable gift for the recipient!
To make this twelve days of Christmas gift tree, I went to CVS Pharmacy to get everything I needed to wrap the boxes and fill the insides.
I’m a huge fan of the new digital receipts available nationwide at CVS Pharmacy. I had no idea they even existed until recently and switching to digital was an awesome decision. I love the deals that come on the long paper receipts but I get so tired of those receipts filling up my purse. And, at Christmas time, it’s hard to keep anything a secret when the kids and the husband can easily see the receipts and read everything on them! Paper receipts make it pretty hard to be a secret Santa!
When I was at CVS recently, I asked them to switch me to digital receipts. The switch is easy. Simply ask the cashier when you’re checking out and they’ll switch you from paper to digital receipts in less than a minute.
Now, instead of getting a long paper receipt when I check out, my digital receipt is emailed directly to my inbox. I love the simplicity and the convenience.
The personalized coupons are still there and all I have to do is click a button to have them sent to my CVS card. That’s probably my favorite feature! I never remembered to use the coupons on my paper receipt but now they’ll be redeemed when I get my card scanned and I won’t even have to remember what coupons I have! I love being able to save money without it being a hassle … and I love that I’ll no longer miss out on using my extrabucks rewards! Easy, right? Just ask a CVS worker to switch you over the next time you’re at CVS!
Once you’ve bought everything you need, including twelve small boxes, fill the boxes with small gifts, one to be unwrapped each day during the twelve days leading up to Christmas, or for the twelve days after Christmas. The gifts can be as small as a favorite flavor of gum or a favorite candy bar or bigger like a pair of awesome earbuds or a favorite cologne.
Wrap each box individually …
… then decorate each one with ribbon and embellishments.
A star is perfect for the top box and can be cut from paper, drawn on, or you can use a large star-shaped cookie cutter like I did.
Wrap the other boxes with patterned ribbon …
… yarn and tulle. Different patterns and textures really make it fun.
Set the boxes up to look like a Christmas tree and then surprise your true love with this fun gift that’ll add a whole pile of treats to the Christmas season!
And don’t forget to sign up for CVS digital receipts this Christmas!

What a cute idea! Made me smile in your bio box where you said you are the one knitting at the red light. Too funny!
