Thrift Store Challenge

I love finding treasures at the thrift store and transforming them into something useful or fun.  You too?  Then you’ll love following along with this thrift store challenge!  I’m joining forces with a group of bloggers and we’re exchanging thrift store scores and then transforming them.  Today I’ll show you what I received and what I sent and in a couple of weeks, I’ll share what I created with the thrift shop goods I received!  Fun, right?  And be sure to check out the links below to see what the other bloggers received … because we all love a good before and after, don’t we?

thrift store challenge

Want to see what I sent my partner?  I dropped this fun and whimsical bull head in the mail to Carrie of Lovely Etc.  Honestly, the sending was a bit hard.  I wasn’t sure if I should send something crazy, fun, workable, or a combination of all of the above.  I kind of fell in love with this little guy when I saw it and I’m hoping Carrie can find a fun way to use it in her gorgeous home filled with DIY projects.  {Seriously, go check out Carrie’s home tour.  It’s beautiful.  And we both have the same huge ampersand in our decor so she must be awesome [wink]}.

And now let me show you what I received from Rachel of Holy Craft!  I got a package full of leather pieces, all of them in fabulous shape.  I have a really fun idea for these pieces so cross your fingers that I can turn my idea into a reality!

Rachel told me she kept some pieces too and I can’t wait to see what she does with hers.

You’ll have to pop over and check out Rachel’s site.   I love her whimsical style.  These painted rock cactus centerpieces are so fun for summer and I’m totally copying her idea of making cotton stems with pistachio shells.  Can you believe it?  They look so real and I’m such a fan of cotton stems in decor.  Talk about clever upcycling.  I had a great time reading through Holy Craft and have to share one final project.  If you love the coloring trend, check out this unique idea for a pillow that can be colored.  It would make such a great Christmas gift!

There are a pile of other bloggers taking part in this challenge as well!
